CNSW GC Div.2 Singles at Chatswood CC (June 2024):
We had three members from Jamberoo CC enter this 3-day tournament, playing against members of Canberra, Chatswood, Hurstville, Marrickville, Mosman, Nelson Bay, Southern Highlands, Strathfield & Wollongong.
Cool and rainy conditions prevailed on the first day, where the 19-players began their rounds in 2-blocks.

On the Monday after, a band of helpers came to remove the debris left by the storm from the courts and surrounds. Many hands make light work, and within a couple of hours, the lawns were looking so much better.

Unfortunately, the last day of our GC Autumn tourn

Unfortunately, the last day of our GC Autumn tournament (in April 2024) was unable to be completed, due to the flooding and storm damage that occurred overnight.
All road to Jamberoo Valley were cut off by flood waters in the early morning, and we had to wait until the high waters of the Minnamurra River subsided.
A few of the tournament players managed to get to the lawns to survey the damage, and our thanks go to Ted W and Darryl N for helping to remove the mud from the clubhouse facilities.

2024 GC Autumn Tournament: The tournament was well

2024 GC Autumn Tournament:
The tournament was well attended by 32 players from 12 Different clubs across NSW as well as 7 players from Jamberoo. There was also an excellent turnout of helpers from Jamberoo Club Members every day to ensure our tournament standard was maintained.
In spite of weather forecasts it held out until the afternoon of day 3 when by 15:30, we had to stop play with 7 games un-played.
On Saturday morning there was some very heavy rain which resulted in the club buildings being flooded and the lawns rendered unplayable.
Consequently, the remainder of the tournament had to be abandoned. A decision was made to determine the winners and runners-up by the results as per the games completed at end of play on day 3.
We would like to thank Kiama Municipal Council for their Sponsorship of this tournament.
There were several players who said how much they enjoyed the tournament and are looking forward to coming back next year.

On a warm spring day in September, Jamberoo CC held its 3rd Annual Combined Probus Croquet Carnival.
Ten local Probus clubs sent their teams along to play: 60 players in total, with 35 visitors to watch the games. They played 6 rounds of the 7-Hoop Game, and there was some very serious competition all round.
The winner’s trophy was donated by JCC Member Pat Moroney and was presented to this year’s winner, Kiama Men’s Probus Club.
Equal runners-up were the Shell Cove's two teams.
Shell Cove provided morning tea and a magnificent celebratory Probus Cake.
We thanks the Jamberoo CC members who were involved with grounds preparation, catering for lunch, scoring and guiding the participants through their games.
The day was full of fun, fellowship and friendship.

Jamberoo CC held its club competitions through July and August, including Div.2 & Div.3 Singles, and Open Singles & Doubles. A great way for players of all skill levels to focus on improving their play in a friendly environment.
Well done to all those who participated, and helped out with scoring, timekeeping, setting up, and managing the competitions.

The Singles games were held over 3 days, Saturday

The Singles games were held over 3 days, Saturday to Monday with twenty individuals playing. The weather on Monday was played in strong gusty wind, which made play very challenging.
Again, Jamberoo had good representation with Janelle B, Robyn S, David K & Jaki G in various blocks.
The winner of the singles was Brian Mitchell from Nowra. Runner-up was Rae Uptin from Nelson Bay.
Thanks again to the JCC supporters who came by to watch play.

The Doubles was held over 2-days and the weather w

The Doubles was held over 2-days and the weather was cool but fine. Ten teams competed, with good representation from Jamberoo CC with Robyn & Ted, Janelle & Robyn, Sandra & Jeff.
It was won by Ian and Ian from Canberra, with 7 wins.
About three other teams finished with 6 wins, coming second with the most Net points, was Jaki (Jamberoo) and her doubles partner Janelle (Canberra).
Thanks to the JCC supporters who came by to watch play.

Saturday was a special day at Jamberoo Croquet Clu

Saturday was a special day at Jamberoo Croquet Club - not only to celebrate World Croquet Day, but also the presentation of the Croquet NSW Golden Mallet Award to one of our members.
JCC President Louise opened the preceedings, with Vice President Judy providing a most informative and concise history of Croquet.
Then, past president Steve introduced JCC Life Member Pat Moroney as the recipient of the 2022 CNSW Golden Mallet Award.
Fidye Westgarth from CNSW present Pat with the Award, which recognises outstanding contributions to our sport.
The proceedings were followed by fabulous morning tea, of which the centrepiece was a signature cake. Attending local Federal & State MPs were then invited to play a spot of croquet to round off the morning's festivities.
